Ketchikan, AK

In Ketchikan, Alaska working for the Alaska Marine Highway System. The ship I'm on (MV Columbia) is tied up at the dock to be ready to get deployed if needed, so we're mostly doing basic maintenance and improvements. Ketchikan is a pretty cool little town and a great place to drink too much, which is both good and bad obviously. Of course, I'm here to work and working 12 hours a day for 14 days straight, so I don't get to do too much exploring.

Surprisingly (to me anyway) Southeast Alaska (just called "Southeast" to anyone who's from here) is pretty mild, the weather only being a little bit colder than Seattle was (with a similar rain all the time climate) and considerably warmer than Michigan was while I was here. The wind is fearsome though.

If you make it here, Annabelle's downtown has a great halibut BLT that ranks in the top 10 of my sandwich eating career. The rest of the food is good, too, (though expensive like everything else up here) but the hali sandwich had just the perfect mixture of tastes.
